Veronica H. Sizer, Esq.

Veronica Howard Sizer is the founding Vice President of the Judah Lion Group.

Attorney Sizer has more than twenty-six years of practicing law in Louisiana. Her primary focus areas are education, estate planning (i.e., testaments (wills) and successions), federal/state disaster response and recovery, mitigation, and privacy protection law.

During her legal career, Attorney Sizer has represented a diverse clientele. Attorney Sizer advised and represented the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) while working within the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Chief Counsel. As a FEMA staff attorney, Sizer provided legal counsel relative to various FEMA programs concerning the Stafford Act’s appropriate application and other laws governing disaster response and recovery. Attorney Sizer currently serves as the Executive Counsel of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

Before going to FEMA, Attorney Sizer served as Education Policy Advisor to former Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco. Attorney Sizer was Governor Blanco’s chief education policy representative and legislative liaison. Before her tenure as Education Policy Advisor, Sizer served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Louisiana Department of Justice under the Honorable Richard Ieyoub. There, she represented the Louisiana Board Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) and the Louisiana Board of Regents.

Attorney Sizer served the City of Baker School Board as its General Counsel. As General Counsel, Sizer represented and advised the School Board to correctly interpret and implement school law and policy and advised the Superintendent and staff on day-to-day operations.

Attorney Sizer is active in many professional and community organizations. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, and the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society of Greater Baton Rouge. Attorney Sizer is admitted to practice in Louisiana state courts, Federal District Courts, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Attorney Sizer’s diverse experiences have enabled her to represent numerous clients at public hearings, during corporate board meetings, at federal and state halls of justice, and before state and local lawmakers.
